Week 5 – The Top Sushi Places In Corpus Christi
If you’re looking for the most authentic Sushi in Corpus Christi, then stop what you’re doing and look right here… A Sushi destination since 1999, Imperial Cafe has been serving up boat loads (literally) of sushi for decades right here in CC. If you have friends or family who have never tried sushi before in their lives… start them here, it doesn’t get more authentic than Imperial.
2. Gemini Sushi & Business Lounge
One of the newest sushi joints in town and probably one of the most creative… don’t believe me? Two Words… Sushi Nachos. Yeaaaa buddy!!! Sushi…fiya, Cocktails…fiya…and nightlight life… fiya.
3. Island Time Sushi Bar & Seafood Grill
“Island time is one of the most community oriented restaurants on the island! The owners are always there to greet you and be apart of your dinning experience. Plus they have yoga and wine nights in the lounge on Mondays at 6pm! 😉 Over all the sushi and steak are top notch too! Love this spot!”
“I love this place because of the funny guy behind the sushi bar. He always makes me laugh and brightens up my day. I saw him on the Food Network on two different shows. He did amazing on the show. Glad corpus is showing some talented chefs being made. David Lee is handsome and George is a perfect mixture between Jack Sparrow and Matthew Mcconaughey. The drinks are amazing! Bobby and Miranda really know how to mix! Gabriel’s laugh is infectious! The whole staff is wonderful especially the Big Asian Guy! Go eat amazing food here! Let your taste buds dance!”
“We love Aka Downtown and make a point to go there every time we are in Corpus Christi! You have to sit at the sushi bar and listen to Mr. Boyd’s stories, and if you ask the right questions you’ll learn a lot about sushi too. He takes so much pride in what he makes and it shows in his dishes. The staff is also super friendly and always super helpful. This place will always be one of my favorite date spots and I can’t want to come back again!”

Now for my personal favorite, which is basically like the Cheers of the Sushi World here in CC because when you walk in everyone knows your name! Celebrating 10 years in business this May you’ll Find owner Mary almost daily behind the sushi bar crafting something up. She’s a magician at concocting up new rolls for her dedicated clients and few of her signature rolls are even named after some! My fav roll… the OMG roll, I think the name says it all!
